Arunachal Pradesh, the 'Land of the Dawn-lit Mountains’, is India’s land of the rising sun. It is the country's remotest state and in it, charming tribal, natural unspoilt beauty, rare orchids, exotic animals such as the Yak and the Mithun, Buddhist monasteries and the Mayapur ruins compel wonder and fascinate the nature lover, anthropologist, archaeologist, and the inquisitive tourist. The state comprises valleys separated by the ridges of the eastern Himalayas and 80% of the land is still forested.

Places to Visit
Itanagar: The Capital, Itanagar, is new and not especially interesting. Although you do meet a cross-section of Arunachal peoples. Traditional huts are scattered among modern houses. The Buddha vihar on the hill is also a famous monument.
