Places to visit
Khajuraho: Close behind the Taj and up there with Varanasi, Jaipur and Delhi, the temples of Khajuraho are one of India’s major attractions. The temples are superb examples of Indo -Aryan architecture, but it’s the decoration with which many are so liberally embellished that have made Khajuraho famous.
Gwalior: Just a few hours from Agra by train or road, Gwalior is famous for its old and very large fort.
Sanchi: Sanchi is topped by some of the oldest and most interesting Buddhist structures in India.
Pachmarhi: MP’s peaceful hill station stands at an altitude of 1067m nestled in the south Satpura Ranges National Park.
Ujjain: One of India’s holiest cities for Hindus
Jabalpur: Almost due south of Khajuraho and east of Bhopal, the large city of Jabalpur is principally famous today for the gorge on the Narmada River known as the Marble Rocks.
